On a 7FA the casing comes off and goes back on at every combustion, hot-gas-path and major inspection. Bolt heating and torque-only methods load the studs unevenly and mark the joint. A turbine casing tensioner stretches the stud axially, the nut is run down by hand and the load is released: every stud sees the same preload, with no thread galling and no heat on the critical path.
